Birch Benefits, a full-service employee benefits firm based in Wayne, PA, welcomes Joe Ross as Strategy and Consulting Leader, a new role created to guide Birch’s strategic vision. As former vice president of underwriting at Equinox Benefits Consulting, Joe brings his expertise, passion, and deep knowledge of benefits strategy to lead the Account Management team and help grow key client relationships.

At ​​Marsh McLennan Agency (formerly Trion), Joe quickly rose to the top, managing a team of underwriters and a large portfolio ranging from small businesses to large enterprises with 1,000+ employees. At Equinox Benefits Consulting, Joe not only built their underwriting team from the start; he also became a leader in the sales process, closing some of Equinox’s largest deals during his tenure.

After years of analyzing financial data to identify the best business solutions for some of the region’s largest companies, Joe comes to Birch looking to make a larger impact. “I want to look at the bigger picture and help our clients build long-term strategies that help them achieve their goals in cost-effective ways,” said Joe.

Joe earned a B.B.A. in Risk Management and Insurance from Temple University and an M.B.A. in Healthcare Management from the University of Scranton. He lives in Clarks Summit, PA with his two sons, his cat, and his dog.
